I have the honour to transmit in duplicate an
application by lar. U. A. Farrell, Overseer of Telephone Work etc.,
in the Public Works Department for transfer to another Colony.
Mr. Farrell desires to be nearer England for
the sake of his children whom he has been obliged to leave at home on account of their health. He is separated from his wife.
The Director of Public Works reports that Lr. Farrell has been engaged exclusively on electrical work during the whole period of his service in the Public Works Department, includ- -ing telephone and telegraph lines and instruments, cables to Lighthouses and between Hongkong and Kowloon, electric bell installations etc., that he is a thoroughly capable Overseer of suci.
work and is an energetic and well qualified man.
